Husband of Kensington Child-Care Operator Indicted for Child Porn

A Kensington man whose wife operated an in-home child-care business has been indicted for producing child pornography, reports say.

Steve Baker had at least 50,000 pornographic images of prepubescent children at his home and at his workplace in Vienna, VA, and his home in Kensington, according to an FBI affidavit, reports NBC Washington. He reportedly admitted to FBI agents that he downloaded child porn at his workplace, Action Signs in Vienna, VA.

Maryland state records list Baker as a family member on a registration for his wife, Diane Baker’s, child-care facility in their Kensington home. The business operated from 2008 to 2012.

FBI agents say Steve Baker had allegedly made what they deemed suspicious online postings in 2011.

Investigators tracked online postings to the sign shop in Vienna, and FBI agents say Steve Baker admitted during an interview at the business that he had “child porn on my computers,’” NBC reports. “‘I have been waiting for someone to come,’” the affidavit said.

Baker and his attorney have not commented on the charges.

Steve Baker is scheduled to appear in federal court in Greenbelt June 13.
