Iconic Food Emporium Reopens as The Market at River Falls
Former seafood market in Potomac Place Shopping Center reopens under new ownership on December 17th as The Market at River Falls.
Just months after the abrupt closure of The River Falls Seafood Market in Potomac, the iconic neighborhood fine food emporium is coming back! Offering the same great quality, flavors and friendly service that the community had grown to adore, the new owners plan to inject a new vitality to the newly re-branded Market at River Falls. The Market, under the ownership of husband-and-wife team and Potomac residents James McWhorter and Yasmin Abadian, is set to reopen to the public on Wednesday, December 17th, 2014, just in time for holiday entertaining.
“For almost two decades, the Potomac community has relied on this market for the highest quality fresh seafood, meats, prepared foods and friendly, knowledgeable service,” says McWhorter. “I’m proud to say that Yasmin and I – along with Andrew Malinowski and most of in-store team that Potomac residents have come to love and appreciate – are dedicated to making The Market at River Falls everything that it was and more in the coming years.”
Ms. Abadian added, “As head of TeamPotomac at Long & Foster’s Potomac Village office, I am acutely aware that this very taste-conscious and affluent community historically has been underserved as to the type of high-quality retail prized by its residents, especially when it comes to premium, fresh foods. So as not to lose a great resource and its fine people, we decided to acquire the market. Our vision is not just to make it as it was, but to measurably expand and do even more to feed the minds, bodies, spirits and expectations for the upscale consumers we serve at The Market at River Falls.”

The Market at River Falls will offer a broad selection of regionally-sourced meats, fresh seafood, sushi, seasonal produce, baked goods, and prepared offerings, as well as fun, educational and entertaining in-store events throughout the year.
The Market at River Falls is located in the Potomac Place Shopping Center at 10124 River Road in Potomac, Md. Open daily from 10 am to 7 pm beginning December 17th.
