JCADA Awarded $204,202 Grant to Assist Victims of Domestic Abuse in Maryland
Local non-profit organization awarded federal grant to help support victims of domestic abuse
The Jewish Coalition Against Domestic Abuse (JCADA) was recently awarded a two-year $204,202 Victims of Crime Assistance (VOCA) grant from the State of Maryland’s Governor’s Office of Crime Control & Prevention. Funding from this federal grant will allow JCADA to expand its clinical services by hiring two additional full-time clinicians as well as create opportunities for the JCADA clinical staff to attend formal and informal continuing education and trainings every month.
According to Arielle Nathan Teitelbaum, President of JCADA’s Board of Directors, “JCADA has offered the community lifesaving services since our inception, but the need for our services continues to grow. Our presence is increasingly necessary as a result of the expansion of JCADA’s outreach and prevention work.”
Elissa Malter Schwartz, JCADA’s Executive Director shared, “We are honored to partner with the State of Maryland to better assist those suffering from the effects of domestic abuse. This opportunity came at an important time in helping to expand JCADA’s capacity to serve victims of abuse in our community.”
