Kentlands Mansion Presents Acrylic, Pastel Exhibit

Gaithersburg’s Arts on the Green presents an acrylic and pastel exhibit at Kentlands Mansion now through Oct. 10. Art on display feature works from Donna Baron, Peggy Dunn and Marlene Sapperstein.

The public may attend a free artists reception from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 19.

Baron uses acrylics for her paintings and feels painting is an accumulation of all the classes, books, workshops, experiments, successes and failures in a never-ending journey down many paths, according to a news release.

Dunn’s pieces on display are done in pastels. She received her master of arts degree from the University of Miami in 1976. She became interested in landscapes and floral painting in pastels after moving to Mount Dora, FL.

Sapperstein has acrylic waterscape pieces in the exhibit. She has a fascination for water, including lakes, streams, oceans and wetlands.

The Kentlands Mansion, 320 Kent Square Road, promotes dialogue between arts and the community. Most of the artwork in the exhibit is for sale and all images are copyrighted by the artist.

Viewing hours for the exhibit is by appointment only, except for the reception. To schedule an appointment, call 301-258-6425.
