BETHESDA, MD — Luxury home decor retailer Serena & Lily will open a store at Bethesda Row next spring. It's the brand's first location in the Washington, D.C. metro area.

Located on Bethesda Lane, the 3,524-square-foot store will occupy the space next to Hawkers Asian Street Fare — a restaurant also set to open next year.

Serena & Lily, known for its California-cool aesthetic, offers furniture, bedding and bath textiles, rugs, lighting, and other home decor items.

Co-founders Serena Dugan and Lily Kanter launched the direct-to-consumer home goods company in 2003. Ten years later, Serena & Lily expanded its footprint beyond online retail and opened nearly a dozen brick-and-mortar locations across the country.

"Federal Realty continues to seek out exclusive and unique brands to complement our merchant mix at Bethesda Row. We're excited to have Serena & Lily open its first DC-area brick-and-mortar shop with us, joining the many other new retail and restaurant concepts in the neighborhood," Federal Realty Investment Trust Senior Vice President of Leasing Stuart Biel said.
