Man Charged in Rockville Sexual Assault of Disabled Woman

Montgomery County Police believe other people may have been the victims of suspect Warren Matthew Giddings and ask them to call detectives.

A man has been charged with sexually assaulting a learning disabled Rockville woman and Montgomery County Police believe there may be other victims who have not contacted authorities.

Warren Matthew Giddings, 23, of the 11900 block of Castle Pines Way in Waldorf, has been arrested for a sexual assault of a 20-year-old woman that occurred in February in Rockville.

In February, detectives began investigating a sexual assault of a vulnerable adult who has cognitive learning disabilities. The victim and Giddings met through an online dating website. After several online and text message exchanges, they met at the victim’s residence and she was sexually assaulted.

As Giddings left the victim’s residence, police allege he stole the victim’s tablet computer.

Giddings has been charged with three counts of first-degree sexual assault, three counts of second-degree sexual assault, three counts of vulnerable adult abuse, and theft under $1,000. He is being held on a $150,000 bond.

Detectives ask anyone who believes she may be a victim of inappropriate contact by Giddings, or anyone who has more information in the case, to call 240-773-5050.
