Man Found Critically Injured in Wheaton Street: Police

Montgomery County Police are asking for tips to find the person who assaulted a man on a Wheaton street on July 4.

Wheaton, MD — Authorities are asking the public to share any information they have on an assault that left a Wheaton man in critical condition Monday.

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department are investigating the first-degree assault of a 25-year-old man that occurred about 1 a.m. on July 4. A driver called police Monday to report that an injured man was laying on the ground near Judson Road and Henderson Avenue in Wheaton.

Officers found the victim in the roadway suffering from trauma to his body.

The victim was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries and remains in critical condition, police said Tuesday. Authorities have not identified the victim or shared more information on how he was injured.

The suspect faces a charge of first-degree assault in the case.
