Man Found in Road Died from Stab Wounds, Name Released: Update

A Rockville man found by road construction crews on Viers Mill Road died Sunday, police say. A $10K reward is being offered.

A man found by road workers with severe injuries Sunday on a Silver Spring street died from multiple stab wounds at an area hospital, say authorities.

The victim’s name was released Monday afternoon by the Montgomery County Police Department. Investigators say Jose Miguel Henriquez Alfaro, 22, of the 12800 block of Parkland Drive in Rockville, was the victim of a homicide that occurred near the intersection of Veirs Mill and Randolph Roads.

Police received a 911 call after 9 a.m. Sunday when workers found Alfaro unresponsive in the service lane in front 12232 Veirs Mill Road. Fire and Rescue personnel took him to an area hospital, where he died from his injuries.

When a road construction crew working on Veirs Mill Road called 9-1-1, police say the suspects fled the area.

The death has been ruled a homicide by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner following an autopsy.

Detectives ask that anyone with information regarding the homicide to call 240.773.5070.
