Man Wanted For Wallet, Credit Card Thefts: Montgomery Co. Police
Police need the public's help identifying a man they say is behind a string of wallet and credit card thefts in Montgomery County.

BETHESDA, MD — A man who police believe is behind a string of wallet and credit card thefts across Montgomery County has been caught on surveillance camera. Authorities have released photos of the suspect in hopes that the public can help identify him.
Between March and May of this year, at least three victims reported that their wallets had been stolen, according to Montgomery County Police. The credit cards inside those stolen wallets were then used to fraudulently purchase merchandise and gift cards at multiple retail stores in Montgomery County and Washington, D.C.
Detectives did not release anymore information about the suspect or the thefts.

Anyone with information about the accused thief should call the 1st District Patrol Investigations Unit at 240-773-6070 or the county's Crime Solvers at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477). Crime Solvers is offering a cash reward of up to $10,000 for information that leads to an arrest in this case. Callers can remain anonymous.
The Montgomery County Police Department is also reminding residents to stay vigilant at all times, especially when carry valuables. If you have a purse, always keep it in sight and close to your body. And if you carry a wallet, make sure it's tucked away inside your coat or front pants pocket. Whenever you're out, stay alert. Police say distractions give thieves opportunities to swipe your belongings.
