The Maryland Shores women's fiction series 99¢ this weekend
Always fun to read about where you live...

In this fun, Chesapeake-themed series, you'll meet characters you can get behind as these strong women find themselves in vulnerable spots but aren't satisfied staying there. In Book One, Maren lost her husband shortly before 9/11, and with frayed nerves got through that year only to find her anxiety ratchet when the DC Sniper sets lose. Yet calm comes her way in the edgy-at-times surgeon Steve Kramer who saves her son and encourages her in ways she never expected. Letting Go is set predominately on the Western Shore, just south of Annapolis, though since Steve grew up in Bethesda-Chevy Chase, look for moments spent in Montgomery County and DC.
Book Two features Liz, Steve's sister, whose Chesapeake world on Kent Island comes crumbling down just as their dear friend Paul Romano loses everything in terrible tragedy. Their friendship supports one another amid sarcastic football banter, because you see....she bleeds purple and well, he is black and gold through and through. Say it could never happen? Read how it does.
Typically priced at $2.99 e-Books on Kindle, Letting Go: Book One of The Maryland Shores and Second Chances: Book Two of The Maryland Shores are on a 99¢ Kindle sale through this weekend. And if you prefer the paperback, they are always featured on Amazon.com as well.

Author Lauren Monroe grew up in Pittsburgh but spent every year of her life in Maryland, moving to the DC suburbs in time for the drama she writes about in Book One. Currently, she resides on the Eastern Shore, which has inspired the nautically-themed, Chesapeake-set novel series.
Weaving the infamous Baltimore/Pittsburgh football rivalry into her plots and characterization, she admits this was one way she could portray the essence of two areas where she has lived and that she loves each one! A special shout-out of thanks to those Ravens-diehard fans who taught her so much that went into her writing.
