Maryland's Best Steakhouse Is In Bethesda: Report

BETHESDA, MD — If you're looking for the ultimate steakhouse in Maryland there are plenty of great choices, but one stands above the rest, according to a new report from Business Insider and Foursquare.

Bethesda's Woodmont Grill was named the top chophouse in the entire state base on ratings, popularity rankings and tips left by users of the Foursquare City Guide mobile app, Business Insider reported.
Woodmont Grill — located just a few blocks from a Metro stop at 7715 Woodmont Ave. — has been serving up steaks, seafood, and baked in-house breads since it opened in 1992. The popular spot offers live jazz nightly.

The dinner menu features several steak options: a Hawaiian ribeye with a pineapple ginger-soy marinade, with a loaded baked potato for $38; a prime rib roasted on the bone, served with seasonal vegetable and pomme purée for $36; a prime New York strip served with pomme purée and rainbow swiss chard for $52; and a USDA prime center cut filet with seasonal vegetable and pomme purée for $47.

"At Woodmont Grill in Bethesda, fantastic service is paired with ace steaks to create a dining experience that's a cut above the rest. Feel free to bring along a vegetarian friend — even carnivores are raving about the veggie burgers," Business Insider said about Woodmont Grill.

Regular customers warn on Yelp to make a reservation or be prepared for a wait of an hour or more. On the up side, the restaurant will text you when your table is ready so you can wander through area shops or get a drink somewhere in the area.

"Dimly lit, intimate setting packed with individuals who could easily be mistaken for some of Washington's finest power brokers and salesmen and women," wrote a recent diner on Yelp. "I really enjoyed lunch at Woodmont Grill. The hostess was friendly, she said they make the best Arnold Palmer in town, so of course we had to order and it did not disappoint."
