Maryland's Delaney 3rd Richest in Congress: How They Rank
Here's how others in the Maryland congressional delegation ranked in the Wealth of Congress Index from Roll Call.
U.S. Rep. John Delaney, D-Potomac, is one of the 10 wealthiest members of Congress according to Roll Call’s new Wealth of Congress Index.
Delaney, whose net worth is estimated at $91.68 million, is the richest Democrat in the 114th Congress and the third-richest member overall. He also is the wealthiest member of the Maryland delegation.
Roll Call describes Delaney as a self-made financier who intends to run for Maryland governor in 2018. Despite ranking No. 3, Delaney’s minimum net worth dropped about $20 million last year when his loan company, CapitalSource, was purchased by PacWest Bancorp.
