Matchbox Pizza Chain Opens At Bethesda Row

BETHESDA, MD — Matchbox, the popular D.C.-based pizza chain, opened in downtown on Saturday.

Located at 7278 Woodmont Ave., the 5,750-square-foot restaurant serves a wide-ranging selection of wood-fired pizzas, sandwiches, salads, and signature appetizers like mini burgers and shrimp and grits. Matchbox's newest location has indoor seating for 180, and outdoor patio seating for 32.

"We're excited to join the vibrant Bethesda community at such a prime corner location along Bethesda Row," said Warren Thompson, president and chairman of Thompson Hospitality, the company that began managing Matchbox Food Group in 2018. "As Matchbox expands its footprint in the DMV, we will continue to build smaller, neighborhood-focused properties averaging about 5,000-square-feet, which guests tell us best match the inviting, come-as-you-are experience Matchbox offers."
