Mercedes Crashes Into Amazon Fresh Store In Chevy Chase
A woman was injured after the car smashed through a parking barrier and slammed into a collection of shopping carts, a report said.
CHEVY CHASE, MD — A woman was hospitalized Friday when the car she was driving crashed into an Amazon Fresh store in Chevy Chase, according to authorities and a report.
Authorities were called to the store located in the 5400 block of Wisconsin Avenue around 12:30 p.m. Friday after receiving a report of a collision, a Montgomery County Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said.
According to authorities, the vehicle struck the building before it became stuck on a guardrail. Several fence posts were damaged in the crash, authorities said.

A witness told WTOP that before the crash, the Mercedes hit a parked car before backing into a concrete planter, pushing it back several feet and damaging a fence in the process. The witness then told WTOP drove forward at a high rate of speed before striking a barrier arm and crashing into a collection of shopping carts.
The female driver was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, the report and authorities said.
