Metro Bethesda Rotary Helps Out

Local Rotary Club Supports Over $150,000 in Local and International Grants

The Metro Bethesda Rotary Club and Foundation have supported a wide variety of service projects over the past 12 months. Over $150,000 in grants have gone to local and international programs.

Examples of their local work are: Nourishing Bethesda food relief, Story Tapestries early literacy work, Spirit Club scholarships providing fitness programs to people with disabilities, and Head Start book distribution. International projects range from emergency medical aid in Ukraine and palliative care in Turkey, to water/sanitation improvements in India. All projects must participate in a grant application process, and each grant is sponsored by a club member. This work aligns completely with the Rotary slogan "Service Above Self."
