UPDATE: Montgomery County Public Schools Closed Tuesday

Snow emergency plan for Montgomery County now in effect.

Montgomery County Public Schools will be closed on Tuesday, Jan. 6, due to weather. The school system sent out a tweet about 8:20 a.m. that classes are canceled because of emergency weather conditions.

A winter weather advisory is in effect until 1 p.m. in Montgomery County.

Buses had been scheduled to operate on a two-hour delay before the cancelation was made, the school system announced.

All school and community activities in school buildings also are canceled. All administrative offices are open. Day care programs in school buildings will remain open as scheduled.

Montgomery County has also activated its snow emergency plan, meaning vehicles cannot park along designated snow routes.
