Montgomery County Snow Photos By Readers From 1st Winter Storm

Readers shared their snow photos from the Jan. 3 storm that dumped about 8 inches of snow on Montgomery County.

BETHESDA, MD — Monday was supposed to be the day when everyone returned to work or school following the New Year's holiday, but Mother Nature had a different plan for our region.

A winter storm warning was issued by the National Weather Service, with much of the area expecting 5 to 8 inches of snow on the ground before it's all over. The storm forecast prompted Montgomery County Public Schools to close school buildings.

Federal offices in the Washington, D.C., area are closed, along with many local services.
