Montgomery County Under Freezing Rain Advisory

Drivers in Montgomery County should be extra careful Monday, as there is a freezing rain advisory in effect until 6 p.m.

A freezing rain advisory means that periods of freezing rain may cause travel difficulties, according to the National Weather Service, which says roads may be slippery and drivers should slow down.

The freezing rain is projected to start sometime between 9 and 11 a.m. and continue throughout the day, according to the National Weather Service.

Included in the freezing rain advisory are Anne Arundel and Prince George’s counties; northwest, central and southeastern Montgomery County; northwest, central and southeast Howard County; as well as the District of Columbia and parts of Virginia.

The high in the Bethesda area on Monday is expected to reach 36 degrees, according to the forecast from the National Weather Service.
