Montgomery Phys Ed Teacher Pleads Guilty To Possessing Child Porn

BETHESDA, MD — A former physical education teacher in Montgomery County pleaded guilty on Thursday to possessing child pornography, according to court records.

Daemon Alan Dartouzos, who worked at Ashburton Elementary School in Bethesda, was initially arrested and charged with 10 counts of possession of child pornography earlier this year. However, as part of his plea deal, Dartouzos won't be facing any jail time, according to Bethesda Beat.

The outlet reports that he will receive no jail time due to "issues" with an FBI investigation. In early 2019, the agency executed a search warrant on his Germantown home and found underage pornography.

Under the plea agreement, the former teacher faces up to five years of probation and a $2,500 fine, says Bethesda Beat. He also has to register as a sex offender for 15 years. He is scheduled to be sentenced on Aug. 27.
