Motorcycle Driver Dies in Beltway Crash with Truck

A Silver Spring man died Wednesday night when he hit a turning tractor-trailer rig on the interstate in Forestville, state police say.

A Silver Spring motorcyclist died in a Wednesday night crash with a tractor-trailer rig on the Capital Beltway in Forestville, state officials said.

Marcus Keith Hines, 29, the driver of the motorcycle, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, according to Maryland State Police.

The Washington Post says the crash happened around 11:30 p.m. in the southbound lanes of the Beltway near Indian Head Highway/MD 210.

State Police told WUSA that Hines was following the truck, which turned right turn into a rest area. Officers said Hines didn’t slow down for the turning truck, and his motorcycle hit the tractor trailer.

Neither the truck driver or his passenger, both of Chesterfield, Va., were hurt.
