Neighbors Dig Out Ambulance With Critically Ill Child
Residents in Kensington grabbed shovels this weekend to free an ambulance stuck in two feet of snow; fire officials shared their thanks.

KENSINGTON, MD —Neighbors battled the elements to get a critically ill child to the hospital in the height of the weekend blizzard.
Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services posted a photo on Facebook of residents shoveling out an ambulance stuck in the snow Saturday. The ambulance was from the fire station in Aspen Hill in Kensington.

About 30 inches of snow fell in the area by Sunday.
“Some residents helping to free up a stuck ambulance that had a critically ill child aboard. Thank you folks who chipped in!,” the department wrote.

While the department hasn’t shared how the child is doing, residents applauded the neighbors for jumping in to assist the snowbound ambulance crew.
“Nice to know that there are still good people in this world,” commented Lois Kuhn.
“A community who cares is priceless!!,” said another reader.
And Michelle Labovitz said, “That is the way things should be! People working together for the greater good instead of just trying to get ahead!”
