New Year's Eve Things to Do in Mongtomery County
From a kids' dance party and happy noon year event to swing dancing and an orchestra at the Bethesda Blues Club.

BETHESDA, MD — There’s still time to make New Year’s Eve plans.
Here are a few events, some for kids, some are for adults, courtesy of the events calendar at Montgomery Community Media.

Twelve Days of Winter Break: Happy Noon Year’s Eve!: Thursday, Dec. 31, 11:30 am - 12:15 pm, Damascus Library, 9701 Main St. Ring in the New Year early with stories, crafts, and a count-down celebration to ring in the “Noon Year”! For ages 3-8; ages 5-under must be accompanied by an adult.
New Years Eve Kids Dance Party: Thursday, Dec. 31, 11:45 am - 12:25 pm, Noyes Library for Children, 10237 Carroll Place in Kensington. Come join us as we count down in celebration of the coming New Year. We will read, sing songs, make noisemakers, and dance.

New Year’s Eve Swing Dance!: Thursday, Dec. 31, 8 pm - 12:30 am, Glen Echo Park, 7300 MacArthur Blvd. New York City’s Lady Luck and the Suicide Kings are at the Spanish Ballroom. Light refreshments (eat dinner first!) and party favors included. Cost: $25 at the door; there will be no tickets pre-sold. Beginners are welcome and no partner is necessary. The dance includes a beginner swing lesson from 8 – 9 pm, followed by dancing until 12:30 am.
Bethesda Blues & Jazz Club: Doc Scantlin & His Imperial Palms Orchestra: Thursday, Dec. 31, 9 to 11 pm, Bethesda Blues & Jazz Supper Club, 7719 Wisconsin Ave. The event features a four-course dinner, special hats, noise makers, horns, pop out streamers, and a champagne toast at midnight. Doors open at 7 pm. Tickets for dinner seatings are $150 per person and $75 for theater seats.
