Not Your Average Joe's Opens July 12 in Silver Spring

Silver Spring, MD - Not Your Average Joe’s will add to the lineup of restaurants at Ellsworth Place when the ribbon is cut on Tuesday, July 12, at 8661 Colesville Road in Silver Spring.

The 6,500-square-foot restaurant, the first sit-down dining option to open under the newly renovated Ellsworth Place, will be located at the corner of Fenton and Ellsworth at Ellsworth Place. Not Your Average Joe’s opens at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 12.

“Not Your Average Joe’s indoor-outdoor dining experience really showcases the modern, inviting brand of our newly revamped retail center,” said Terry Richardson, president and COO of Petrie Richardson Ventures, the owner developers of Ellsworth Place retail center. “We think locals and visitors alike will enjoy the fare, the ambiance and the summer-ready outdoor patio.”

The new Silver Spring location will partner with the American Film Institute Silver Theatre and Cultural Center, a nonprofit working to connect the past, the present and the future of the moving image arts through education. As part of the location’s pre-opening, the Not Your Average Cause program is set up to have guests donate to the charity instead of paying their bill.

The donation will be made to AFI at the ribbon-cutting ceremony on July 12.

Not Your Average Joe’s is known for its fresh, made-from-scratch dishes such as Chicken Caprese, the Rosemary Skewered Scallops and Mustard-Crusted Chicken BLT.

The newest Silver Spring restaurant menu changes with the seasons. The summer menu will be the featured menu from the opening date through October. On the summer menu they will be serving up Spiced-Rubbed Pork Tenderloin, Chimichurri Flank Steak, and Watermelon-Feta Salad. Along with changing menu items, the restaurant boasts a robust gluten-free menu.

The restaurant will accommodate over 200 guests, including a private dining space that can be reserved for special events. The full service bar will serve up craft cocktails, beer and wine. The Silver Spring location takes pride in its distinctive light fixtures, eclectic bar stools, and unique booth fabrics making the dining scene hip yet casual.

The Silver Spring location will be the sixth Not Your Average Joe’s to open in the Washington metropolitan area. Other restaurant locations include Gaithersburg and Bethesda in Montgomery County, plus Leesburg, Reston and Woodbridge, Virginia.

Ellsworth Place recently announced the full lease-up of all anchor tenant spaces, which include Burlington Coat Factory, Dave & Buster’s, Guitar Center, Marshalls, Michaels, Ross and T.J.Maxx. The grand reopening of Ellsworth Place is planned for mid to late fall 2016.

Recently opened stores include Payless, Foot Locker and MOD Pizza. Additional tenants opening their doors soon at Ellsworth Place include Forever 21 Red, Kung Fu Tea and Rue21.
