Pedestrian Killed in Wheaton Accident
An elderly North Bethesda driver reportedly lost control of her Hyundai Sonata, striking the pedestrian.

An elderly driver from North Bethesda lost control of her car Thursday morning, fatally striking a Wheaton woman on foot in the area.
Investigators say a 2011 Hyundai Sonata was eastbound on Randolph Road just before 11 a.m. when the driver lost control. The car, driven by Mary Alice Tabb, 83, of the 5400 block of Marinelli Road in North Bethesda, traveled across three lanes of traffic and struck a utility pole on the corner of Selfridge Road.
Tabb’s vehicle then left the road and hit a pedestrian who was in near a driveway in the 4300 block of Randolph Road.

The pedestrian victim was taken to Suburban Hospital in Bethesda, where she died from her injuries. Police have identified the victim as Maria Dolores Posadas, 45, of the 4500 block of Randolph Road in Wheaton.
Tabb was also taken to Suburban Hospital with minor injuries.
