Pieology Pizzeria To Open In Bethesda Friday

BETHESDA, MD — A fast-casual pizza chain called Pieology Pizzeria will open in Bethesda Row Friday, according to Bethesda Magazine. The restaurant will open its doors at 4922 Elm St.

Customers can pick from the freshest ingredients and signature sauces and crusts to make their own pizzas. You first choose your crust: house-made white, house-made whole wheat or gluten-free. You then choose either a house red sauce, 3-cheese Alfredo sauce, herb butter, olive oil, fiery buffalo, pesto or BBQ sauce. Toppings include different types of cheese, meat and vegetables. Your hand-crafted pizza is then stone oven fired in less than three minutes.

The California-based chain also offers pre-selected pizza options like the "Mad To Meat You" with pepperoni, sausage, meatball and house red sauce, and the "Hickory BBQ Chicken" with BBQ sauce, mozzarella, gorgonzola, chicken and red onion. Pieology also sells custom salads and sides like sweet cinnamon sugar strips and savory herb butter strips.

Pieology Pizzeria has about 100 restaurants and plans for hundreds more. According to Bethesda Magazine, crews are currently finishing construction on the 2,600-square-foot restaurant that occupies the former 100 Montaditos.

A Pieology opened on Shady Grove Road in Gaithersburg last fall. There are currently 79 Yelp reviews so far, including:

Pieology Pizzeria will be open daily from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
