Popular Health Chain 'True Food Kitchen' To Open In Bethesda
The health-conscious, eco-chic chain restaurant True Food Kitchen will open it's doors in Bethesda this June.
BETHESDA, MD — The health-conscious, eco-chic chain restaurant True Food Kitchen plans to open on Wisconsin Avenue in Bethesda this June, Bethesda Magazine reports.
True Food Kitchen is a seasonal restaurant that merges healthy food with unique cocktails and local beers on a rotational menu. The Phoenix, Arizona-based restaurant offers gluten-free, vegetarian, vegan and organic options.
"True Food Kitchen is based on the idea that food should make you feel better – not worse – and that you shouldn’t have to sacrifice taste to live a healthier lifestyle," their website states. "Every meal we serve is prepared to that standard."

The Bethesda location will occupy a 6,400-square-foot space situated beneath the Solaire Bethesda luxury apartments, and is set to open on June 14.

Must try dishes include the Spaghetti Squash Casserole, Inside Out Quinoa Burger, Edamame Dumplings and the Antioxidant Tea. The menu items are based loosely on an anti-inflammatory diet program created by an Arizona doctor named Andrew Weil.

"There are both Mediterranean elements and lots of Asian food, especially ingredients from Japanese cuisine," Dr. Weil states on his website. "It’s a mix of the two healthiest food cultures in the world."

The restaurant is also known for it's open kitchen concept, which brings guests closer to the preparation of each dish.
A senior vice president for Washington Property Company, Daryl South, said he believes True Food Kitchen will be a great fit for Bethesda because of the area's “discerning and health-conscious residents." He highlighted the heavy bike use in the area and the nearby National Institutes of Health campus.
There are locations in Dallas, Austin, Atlanta, San Diego, Chicago, Denver, Fairfax and more.
