Many of us unknowingly suffer from inefficient muscle performance on a daily basis.
Often the result of repetitive movements, an old injury, or an aging body, our muscles can lose their ability to contract efficiently. Our body will typically respond to muscle inefficiency by compensating and using other muscles to try to get the job done.
In the short term, compensation provides a great solution for our body to continue our necessary daily activities. However, compensation usually entails limited range of motion, decreased strength, and less than ideal joint alignment.
