Rooftop Ice Skating Rink Comes To Pike & Rose On Feb. 1

Visitors can enjoy Canopy by Hilton's rooftop ice skating rink in North Bethesda starting Feb. 1.

BETHESDA, MD — The PM Hotel Group on Friday announced the opening of a rooftop ice skating rink at Canopy by Hilton in North Bethesda's Pike & Rose.

Starting Feb. 1, visitors can take skating lessons or schedule private parties at the 2,250-square-foot synthetic ice rink.

It will operate in partnership with Mel's Rink Foundation, a Montgomery County-based nonprofit that builds synthetic ice rinks and provides athletic-based programming to people with disabilities.

"We are thrilled to welcome Mel's Rink back to Montgomery County, to our hotel and the Pike & Rose neighborhood," said Alexandra Byrne, chief enthusiast of the Canopy by Hilton Washington, D.C. Bethesda North. "Transforming our roof and opening the skating rink for the winter allows us to continue to build our relationship with the community, offering activities for kids and parents alike."

The ice rink will be open to the public every day from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. The price for skate rentals and two hours of ice time is $17 for adults and $14 for children.

Located at 940 Rose Ave., the rooftop rink is adjacent to Canopy Central Restaurant & Bar, which will offer food and drinks such as toasted peanut butter and banana sandwiches, nachos with spicy cheese, specialty hot chocolates, and Irish coffees and craft beers from local breweries.
