That's Not Your Neighbor's Dog. It's A Coyote
A Massachusetts man found this out the hard way.

ASHBURNHAM, MA — What's cute and furry? Your neighbor's dog. What's cute, furry, and going to attack you before running into the woods? That would be a coyote.
An Ashburnham man found that out the hard way Sunday night when he approached what he thought was his neighbor's dog before being attacked by what turned out to be a coyote, police said. The coyote bit the man several times. The animal fled into the woods; The man was sent to the hospital for rabies treatment.
Ashburnham Police are advising people to stay away from coyote and unfamiliar dogs.

"Coyotes vary in size, color and will wander into residential areas looking for food," police said. "Unknown dogs, foxes and coyotes should not be approached or fed for any reason."
Ashburnham is a small town in Worcester County. It borders the New Hampshire line northwest of Fitchburg.
