Saks Jandel Store Robbery Suspect Sketches Released

A luxury boutique in Chevy Chase was robbed last month; on Tuesday Montgomery County Police released sketches of the robbers.

CHEVY CHASE, MD — Police on Tuesday released sketches of a couple accused of robbing a Chevy Chase luxury boutique of nearly $6,000 worth of purses, and assaulting a security officer during their getaway.

Montgomery County Police are asking for the public’s help identifying a man and a woman who allegedly robbed the Saks Jandel department store, 5510 Wisconsin Ave. in Chevy Chase. The robbery happened about 4 p.m. on July 25; detectives releasing composite sketches of both suspects on Tuesday.

The suspects entered Saks Jandel and stole three purses with a total value of more than $5,900, authorities say. When a Saks Jandel loss prevention officer tried to stop the suspects from stealing the items, one of the robbers used pepper spray on the guard. The suspects were last seen on foot heading toward the Friendship Heights Metro station.

The first suspect is described as an African American man in his 20s with a dark complexion. He is abouty 5’08” tall and was wearing a waist length wig, a pink and beige halter top, a denim skirt, and beige sandals.

Police describe the second suspect as an African American woman in her early 20’s with a dark complexion. She is approximately 5’05” to 5’07” tall with a thin build. She was wearing a multicolored knit shirt, shorts, and Versace sunglasses with a black and gold logo on the sides.

Anyone who recognizes the suspects or has information about the robbery is asked to call police at 240-773-5070.
