  • Join Montgomery Parks in celebrating Maryland Emancipation Day with numerous events planned over the weekend.
  • Washington ArtWorks has many activities planned for their Open Studio Weekend including live music, food trucks, film screenings and more. Open noon to 5 p.m. in Rockville.
  • Montgomery County therapeutic recreation is hosting a 25th Anniversary of the ADA Celebration at 1 p.m. at the Mid-County Community Recreation Center in Silver Spring.
  • Montgomery Playhouse’s production of Painting Churches continues with a show at Gaithersburg Arts Barn at 2 p.m. Recommended for ages 15 and older.
  • Rockville Musical Theatre presents Footloose at the F. Scott Fitzgerald Theatre in Rockville at 2 p.m.
  • Folk group Shenandoah Run perform at the Mansion at Strathmore at 4 p.m.
  • The Baltimore Symphony Orchestra performs Time Travel led by conductor Marin Alsop at Strathmore at 8 p.m.
