Secondary School Fair at Norwood School
The 18th annual Secondary School Fair will be held at Norwood School on October 6 to showcase many options for private high school.
The eighteenth annual Secondary School Fair will take place on Thursday, October 6, 2016 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Norwood School, an independent, coeducational school for students in pre-kindergarten through eighth grade located at 8821 River Road in Bethesda. The event is free of charge to anyone interested in learning more about independent high schools. Representatives from more than 120 day and boarding schools will be available to provide both on-site and take-home information. Norwood hosts the fair along with 18 other independent schools.
“High school placement is an important part of the eighth grade year at Norwood,” says Head of School Matthew Gould. “We are pleased to be able to co-host the fair as a service to our eighth-grade families and to members of the community at large who are interested in learning more about the many fine independent secondary schools in the Washington area, as well as a number of excellent boarding schools throughout the country.”
The National Association of Independent Schools has identified six special considerations when looking for the right school for your child: location, size, educational philosophy, curriculum, faculty, and facilities. The Secondary School Fair provides an opportunity to “one-stop shop” many different kinds of schools to begin to find the right fit for a child. Admission officers will be available to answer questions, as well as provide information on the application process, tuition and financial aid, curricular and extracurricular offerings, class size, and what makes their school unique.

The following schools are co-hosting the event with Norwood: Alexandria Country Day School, The Barnesville School of Arts and Sciences, Browne Academy, Capitol Hill Day School, Christ Episcopal School, Congressional Schools of Virginia, DC Preparatory Academy, Edgewood Middle Campus, Friends Community School, Green Acres School, Green Hedges School, St. John’s Episcopal Day School, St. Patrick’s Episcopal Day School, Sheridan School, Washington Episcopal School, Washington Jesuit Academy, The Washington School for Girls, and Woods Academy.
