Silver Spring Regional Director Reemberto Rodriguez told Montgomery Community Media the new online portal is the official website for the Silver Spring Regional Area- a Montgomery County region which is south of the beltway, east to the Prince George’s County line, south to the Washington, D.C., line and west to Rock Creek Park.

“One of the biggest changes is the number of feet in Silver Spring has more than quadruple. … The Fillmore [for instance] brings at least two thousand people routinely to Silver Spring,” he said.
Rodriguez added that places like the Silver Spring Civic Building and Veteran’s Plaza had a major impact on the growth of Silver Spring. He also praised community events like the Maker Faire, Fenton Street Market, and ethnic festivals.
