Silver Spring Motorcyclist Dies in Crash

The fatal collision between a motorcycle and a Honda Civic occurred Sunday afternoon in Spencerville.

SPENCERVILLE, MD — A Silver Spring man died Sunday afternoon when his motorcycle collided with a car in Spencerville, officials said.

Montgomery County Police and Fire and Rescue personnel responded to the crash about 3 p.m. in the 1400 block of Spencerville Road (Route 198).

The motorcyclist has been identified as Joe Odeh Dababneh, 42, of the 800 block of Johnson Avenue in Silver Spring.

Investigators say Dababneh was traveling east on Spencerville Road driving a 2004 Yamaha YSF R6 motorcycle. At the same time, an eastbound 2014 Honda Civic wasdriven by Melodi Blayre Jacobs, 26, of the 1400 block of Spencerville Road in Spencerville. For reasons still under investigation, the vehicles collided.

Dababneh was taken to a local hospital, where he died from his injuries.
