'Small but Mighty' Somerset Sees Strong Contingent of Elected Officials on Fourth
The Town of Somerset in Chevy Chase may be small, but its residents speak up about issues important to them, and that doesn't go unnoticed by state and county elected officials.

The Town of Somerset in Chevy Chase may not have many more than 1,000 people living in it, but when it comes to political clout, "we're small but we're mighty," Town of Somerset Mayor Jeffrey Slavin told Patch.
For the town's annual Fourth of July celebration, 10 elected state and county politicians stopped by to speak at the ceremony.
In the video, Montgomery County Councilwoman Nancy Floreen (D-At Large), Maryland State Delegate Heather R. Mizeur (D-District 20), Montgomery County Councilman George Leventhal (D-At Large), Maryland State Senator Brian E. Frosh (D-District 16) and Maryland State Delegate Ariana B. Kelly (D-District 16) tell Somerset residents why Somerset—small as it is—is important.
