Throughout the month of July, students at Chesterbrook Academy Preschool in Germantown and Bethesda Country Day School participated in a number of fundraisers to collect and raise more than $600 to benefit Red Nose Day. To raise money for the nonprofit, which works to end child poverty, students at Chesterbrook Academy held weekly themed bake sales and family activities, and partnered with area restaurants to host family nights, with a portion of the proceeds going to the organization. Students at Bethesda Country Day School raised funds by hosting weekly lemonade stands and bake sales.

Red Nose Day is a fundraising campaign run by nonprofit organization Comic Relief Inc. The event brings people together to have fun, raise money and change the lives of kids who need help the most. Red Nose Day launched in the U.S. in 2015, and the money raised has benefitted programs for children and young people in all 50 states and in 25 countries internationally.
