Students Donate Over $900 to Australia Bushfire Relief Efforts

Students sold handmade artwork to raise money for the Australian Red Cross and Wildlife Information, Rescue and Education Service Inc.

Students at Bethesda Country Day School recently raised more than $900 to support bushfire relief efforts in Australia. The donation will benefit the Australian Red Cross and the Wildlife Information, Rescue and Education Service Inc. (WIRES), Australia's largest wildlife rescue organization. To raise the funds, Pre-K students sold handmade artwork to families, staff and teachers from Jan. 31-Feb. 5. Through this initiative, students learned the importance of caring for the environment and giving back to others in need.
