Suicidal Teen Leaves Home Via Uber: Police

Montgomery County Police are asking the public to help find a Bethesda teenager who made suicidal threats.

BETHESDA, MD — A teenager who took an Uber ride to leave home this weekend may be suicidal, say Montgomery County Police, who are asking the public to help find the boy.

Tejin Thomas, 17, of the 5200 block of Belvoir Drive in Bethesda, was last seen at 9:30 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 3, when he likely used Uber to leave his home.

Thomas is 5’ 8” tall and weighs 125 pounds. He has brown eyes and short black hair. At the time he left his home, he was wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt and blue pants. He was also carrying a duffel bag.

Thomas left messages that contained suicidal statements before leaving his home Sunday night. Police and family are concerned for his emotional and physical welfare; he has not been heard from since his departure. Police are attempting to locate the Uber driver who drove Tejin from his home and want to hear from that driver.
