Sunday Morning Bakehouse Opens Flagship Store At Pike & Rose
Montgomery County native and self-taught baker Caroline Yi opened Sunday Morning Bakehouse on Tuesday at North Bethesda's Pike & Rose.

BETHESDA, MD — Sunday Morning Bakehouse, a staple of Pike & Rose's weekend farmers market, has opened its first brick-and-mortar store in the North Bethesda neighborhood.
Self-taught baker and owner Caroline Yi decided to open a permanent storefront after selling her baked goods at the Pike & Rose Farm Market, where she has a loyal customer base. Yi said the decision to put down roots in Montgomery County was a no-brainer.
"I knew if and when I opened my first business it had to be in my hometown. After visiting Pike & Rose for the first time, I fell in love with it and knew it was the only place I could picture my bakery and café," the Montgomery County native said.

Located at 11869 Grand Park Ave., Sunday Morning Bakehouse officially opened its doors on Tuesday. The 2,500 square-foot bakery & café serves an assortment of pastries — including Yi's signature handmade croissants, naturally leavened bread, and brioche donuts — and offers full coffee service.
With seating for approximately 40 people, Sunday Morning Bakehouse will also serve eat-in breakfast items such as French style omelettes and herb baked eggs. A variety of sweet and savory toast offerings like homemade jam with sea salt and Catalan-style pan con tomate on crusty sourdough will be offered on the all-day breakfast menu.

"It's a dream come true to serve the community I grew up in by doing what I love," Yi said.

Sunday Morning Bakehouse is open Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., and weekends from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. It joins a growing number of dining destinations at Pike & Rose — including Sweetgreen, Julii, and The Block.
"Locally owned businesses are the soul to our neighborhoods," said Emily Gagliardi, the leasing director at Federal Realty Investment Trust —which owns Pike & Rose. "The addition of Sunday Morning Bakehouse is the perfect compliment to Pike & Rose."
