Teens Charged with Multiple Armed Robberies

Montgomery County police say suspects ages 16 and 18 have been charged with robberies in Silver Spring and Takoma Park.

Two teenagers have been arrested by Montgomery County Police for armed robberies of businesses in Silver Spring and Takoma Park.

Dominique Banks, 18, who has no fixed address, is being held in Prince George’s County on unrelated charges.

Trayvon Sykes, 16, of Lanham, is being held in Montgomery County on adult charges related to the Montgomery County robberies.

Each teen has been charged with several counts of armed robbery and use of a handgun during the commission of a felony, police say.

  • Oct. 13, Takoma Park Police were called to an armed robbery at Jolee Dry Cleaners, 6494 New Hampshire Ave. An undisclosed amount of cash was stolen.
  • Oct. 13, Third District officers handled an armed robbery call at Cameron’s Seafood, 8603 16th St. in Silver Spring. Thieves took an undisclosed amount of cash and personal items.
  • Oct. 17, Third District officers responded to an armed robbery at Subway, 8040 13th St. in Silver Spring. The suspects took an undisclosed amount of cash and personal items. Police say both teens physically assaulted a victim.
