UPDATE: Three Bank Robberies, One Suspect in Custody
Police say one man may have robbed three banks within 30 minutes in Chevy Chase and Kensington. He was arrested in Glenarden late Thursday.

CHEVY CHASE, MD — Three bank robberies Thursday morning – in Chevy Chase and Kensington – may have been committed by the same suspect, officials say, and he's now in custody.

Two hours after the series of robberies, a Prince George's County Police sergeant leaving a restaurant in Glenarden spotted a Toyota Corolla matching the lookout for a serial bank robber’s car. Moments after calling for back-up, the suspect was in custody.
Police say the identity of the suspect will be released once he is charged.

A news conference is scheduled for Friday afternoon at PGPD headquarters, where the sergeant will provide more details.
The Montgomery County Police Department says three robberies were all reported within half an hour.
The department believes that two, if not all three, of the bank robberies were the work of the same suspect.
The reporting times and bank locations are:
- 11:20 a.m. - SunTrust Bank, 8510 Connecticut Ave. in Chevy Chase
- 11:29 a.m. - Capital One Bank, 10707 Connecticut Ave. in Kensington
- 11:35 a.m. - BB&T Bank, 2909 University Blvd. West in Kensington
The suspect is described as a black man in his 30s wearing all dark clothing.
