Tidewater Comicon 2017 coming the weekend of May 13-14 at Virginia Beach Convention Center

Unfortunately Maryland Comic con will not be here for another 4 months, not until September 22, but there is Virginia Beach con

One of the most exciting events to attend for any age is Baltimore Comic-con, held in early Fall at The Baltimore Convention Center downtown with excellent artists and an extremely impressive VIP list that usually includes actual actors from Marvel movies like Chris Hemsworth or his stunt double and people like Stan lee or other actual comic book artists. These artists are guys who can look you up and down and draw you in costume as an amazing superhero in about five minutes. They are incredible they can face paint you to look like Spider man or Thor, they can literally turn you into Wonder woman or The Joker in a matter of minutes. They are true professionals. It is a sight to behold. Unfortunately Baltimore Comic-con is four months away. However, Tidewater Comic-con is two weeks away.

The event will be held in Virginia Beach at The Virginia Beach Convention Center at 1900 Atlantic Avenue Virginia Beach, Virginia 23451 They will be holding the two day festival from Saturday 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Sunday 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The celebrity guest list includes Jason Mewes of Jay and Silent Bob, John Wesley Shipp from The Flash, Violett Beane from The Flash and Dana Snyder from Justice League Action.There will be over 200 professional artists in residence to paint and sell their items, and to make sure the kids all have a wonderful time while their parents go try on costumes .

Comic con donates to charities and hosts blood drives and other charitable events for children. Chris Hemsworth and Chris Evans both visited sick kids in the hospital recently and Marvel Studios is supporting a 'Hero Acts' Initiative Turning Your Superhero Selfies Into Charity For Kids Marvel Studios is recruiting celebrities and fans alike in an attempt to raise a million dollars for children in need around the globe with its new Hero Acts charitable initiative.

"Whether visiting children in hospitals, granting wishes to children with life-threatening illnesses, or inspiring kids and families through our content, Marvel Studios: Hero Acts builds on the tradition of lending a hand to children in times of need.

It is a great idea and what better way to make a sick child feel better than have a superhero visit them in the hospital? Imagine waking up to Thor or Loki standing at your bedside? We live in a wonderful world these days.

But as for Baltimore comic-con keep checking their webpage for all the latest that will be coming to our fair city http://baltimorecomiccon.com/ . What a shame we can't have one in Bethesda or Washington D.C. It is a true adventure to attend one of these events. A timeless and priceless fantasy come to life.
