T.J. Maxx To Open New Store in Silver Spring

The 24,000-square-foot fashion spot in Ellsworth Place is bringing 60 jobs to the area.

T.J. Maxx, one of the nation’s largest clothing retailers, will open a new store next month in Silver Spring.

The store in Ellsworth Place will have a grand opening on Wednesday, Nov. 11, from 8 a.m. until 9:30 p.m., the company announced in a statement. Reusable bags will be given to the first 1,000 customers. Ellsworth Place is a shopping mall at the intersection of Fenton Street and Colesville Road in downtown Silver Spring.

The new store will bring about 60 full and part-time jobs to the area, the company says.

At the 7:30 a.m. ribbon-cutting ceremony, T.J. Maxx will present a $5,000 donation to The Shepherd’s Table. The new store will also join all other T.J. Maxx stores nationwide in sponsoring a child who participates in Save the Children’s U.S. programs.

At 24,000 square feet, the new department store in Ellsworth place will offer an easy-to-shop layout, bright and spacious dressing rooms and a single-line queue for faster checkout.

T.J.Maxx has more than 1,000 stores operating in 49 states and Puerto Rico. “From fashion and accessories to jewelry, home, beauty, pet products, toys and more, the latest T.J.
