Trump-Endorsed Candidate For MD Governor To Hold Car Rally In Bethesda

BETHESDA, MD — A group called Concerned Americans Seeking Truth is holding a car rally in Bethesda at 10 a.m. on Sunday for Del. Dan Cox, the Trump-endorsed candidate seeking the Republican nomination for governor.

Residents are invited to bring their cars, vans, SUVs and trucks and parade with the group to support Cox, who represents Frederick and Carroll counties in the Maryland House of Delegates.

The organizers said the rally would be held at Westfield Montgomery Mall on Democracy Blvd. But Westfield Montgomery said in an email to Patch that the organizers of the Cox rally never requested permission and were never granted permission to hold the rally at the mall.

"We have contacted the organization hosting the rally to let them know they need to find an alternate location," a mall representative said.

In the Republican primary, Cox is running against Robin Ficker, a former delegate; Schulz, a former state Commerce secretary, who has the backing of Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan; and Joe Werner. The primary election will be held July 19.

The car rally flyer says: “We the people, Love Trump. We the people, Support MAGA. We the people, Vote Dan Cox for Governor. We the people, Concerned Americans Seeking Truth.”
