Urban Country to Host 24th Anniversary Celebration and Silent Auction Event
Momentous Occasion "Saluting Our Wounded Heroes" -- Silent Auction Items from Urban Country and Bethesda-Area Shops
“Saluting Our Wounded Hereos” -- that’s this year’s theme for Urban Country’s 24th Annual Anniversary and Silent Auction Event. The Bethesda-based home furnishings and design retailer is marking 24 years of providing luxury interior design services and fine home furnishings to the national capital region while honoring local wounded military veterans during a wine and hors d’oeuvres reception on Wednesday, October 28 from 6:30 – 9:30 p.m. Urban Country is located in Bethesda Row at 7117 Arlington Road, Bethesda, MD 20814.
Urban Country’s 24th Anniversary Celebration and Silent Auction Event will boast a large selection of Urban Country home furnishings, accessories and merchandise from area retailers and restaurants in a silent auction presentation with proceeds benefitting the Warrior Canine Connection – a pioneering Maryland-based nonprofit organization that utilizes clinically based Canine Connection Therapy to help wounded Warriors reconnect with life, their families, their communities and each other. Fundraising for our country’s wounded soldiers is a cause that Urban Country is extremely passionate about and last year’s silent auction raised more than $12,000 making it one of the most successful Urban Country philanthropic fundraising events to date.
This year’s special celebrity guest and Master of Ceremonies is Tommy McFly, host of the popular The Tommy Show – 94.7 Fresh FM’s weekday morning variety talk program -- and WUSA9 entertainment correspondent.

Numerous local and national home furnishing brands are donating a variety of items for the silent auction including merchandise and gift baskets provided by Bethesda Row and DC-area boutiques, restaurants and other local retailers.
“During this festive season, we want to embrace American patriotism and honor our wounded heroes currently in recovery,” says Rachelle Roth, founder and owner of Urban Country. “The Warrior Canine Connection wonderfully assists our injured soldiers and matches them with trained service dogs to help with their therapy and treatment. This event is our way of saluting them as well for their remarkable efforts.”
