Bethesda, MD – Urban Country is embracing America’s birthday by giving back. Through the month of July, Urban Country in Bethesda Row is partnering with upholstery manufacturer Lee Industries to support a national capital area nonprofit organization that assists our wounded war veterans. From Friday, July 1-Sunday, July 31, Urban Country is offering 10 percent off all Lee furniture orders and will donate a percentage of purchases to The Warrior Canine Connection– – a pioneering Maryland-based nonprofit organization that utilizes clinically based Canine Connection Therapy to help wounded Warriors reconnect with life, their families, their communities and each other.

Also during the month of July, Urban Country is offering big savings on other in-store merchandise, including 60 percent off furniture floor samples, 25 percent off MacKenzie-Childs Flower Market & Butterfly collections and 20 percent off decorative accessories including special orders.

Urban Country founder and owner Rachelle Roth and her daughters Jillian and Sascha, co-owners, are extremely passionate about raising money for local charities that are dear to their heart, which include brain tumor treatment and research, breast cancer awareness and wounded war veterans.

About Warrior Canine Connection

Warrior Canine Connection utilizes Canine Connection Therapy to help warriors recovering from the stress of combat reconnect with their families, communities and life. By helping train the dogs as they move from puppyhood to training to adult service dogs, Warrior Trainers benefit from a physiological and psychological animal-human connection. As a result of their efforts, Veterans with disabilities receive well-trained service dogs. Warrior Canine Connection Executive Director Rick Yount and WCC Research Director Meg Daley Olmert work to identify and pursue research opportunities that explore why training a service dog relieves symptoms of post-traumatic stress and traumatic brain injury. It is hoped that this research will provide scientific evidence that dogs are providing powerful therapeutic support that improves the lives of wounded Warriors and their loved ones.
