Veterans Day 2019: What's Open, Closed In Montgomery County

Before you head out on Veterans Day, check out what's open and closed in Montgomery County.

BETHESDA, MD — Veterans Day is Monday, Nov. 11 and there's plenty to do in Montgomery County. Before you head out on Sunday, you should know what's open and closed. Check out the county's Veterans Day schedule below:

Montgomery County government will observe the following holiday schedule for Veterans Day:

  • County Offices – Closed;
  • Libraries – Closed;
  • Alcohol Beverage Services (ABS) – Retail stores will operate on regular schedules;
  • Recreation – Aquatic centers are open. Recreation, senior centers, and administrative offices are closed;
  • Montgomery Parks -Montgomery Parks Headquarters and Permit Offices, Meadowside Nature Center, Brookside Nature Center, Locust Grove Nature Center, and Black Hill Visitor Center and Nature Programs will be closed; visit www.MontgomeryParks.org for complete operating hours;
  • Ride On and Ride On Flex – Operates on the holiday schedule;
  • Metrorail and Metrobus – Visit www.wmata.com;
  • TRiPS Commuter Store (Silver Spring) – Open;
  • TRiPS Mobile Commuter Store – Closed;
  • County-provided refuse/recycling pickup – No County-provided collection services. All trash and recycling collections will slide a day, with the last pickup on Saturday, Nov. 16;
  • Shady Grove Processing Facility and Transfer Station – Open normal hours;
  • Parking at public garages, lots, curbside meters – Free;
  • State offices and courts – Closed.
