Beau Biden, Vice President's Son, Dies at 46
Beau Biden was battling brain cancer at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda.

Beau Biden, the son of Vice President Joe Biden, died Saturday after a battle with brain cancer. He was 46.
In a statement, Joe Biden called his son, “quite simply, the finest man any of us have ever known.”
Beau Biden was admitted earlier this month to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda.

An Iraq war vet, Beau Biden had served as attorney general of Delaware since 2006 and announced in 2014 he would forgo another term and run for governor in 2016.
He had suffered a mild stroke in 2010 and received treatment in 2013 for a lesion in his brain, but successful recovered.

The White House announced May 19 that Beau Biden was undergoing treatment at Walter Reed, but made no comment on his condition at the time.
In a statement, President Barack Obama stated, ”Like his dad, Beau was a good, big-hearted, devoutly Catholic and deeply faithful man, who made a difference in the lives of all he touched – and he lives on in their hearts.“
