Virginia Man Dies in Crash After State Police Chase
The man reportedly lost control of his motorcycle and crashed at the I-495 ramp to the Clara Barton Parkway, state police say.

A Virginia man who had been chased by Virginia State Police died when he lost control of his motorcycle near Bethesda and crashed, authorities say.
Virginia troopers contacted the Maryland State Police Rockville Barrack about 8:30 p.m. Wednesday to let them know they were pursuing a black motorcycle, and the driver was wearing a black helmet. Authorities identified the motorcyclist as Javier Garamendi Iniguez, 27, of Springfield, VA.
The chase had ended after Virginia State Police lost sight of the motorcycle, so troopers wanted to pass the information on to the Maryland State Police.

About five minutes after learning about the chase, Maryland State Police were notified of a crash involving the motorcycle on the inner loop of I-495 ramp to the Clara Barton Parkway in the Bethesda area.
It appears Iniguez lost control and was thrown from the motorcycle and over the jersey wall. The motorcycle struck another vehicle. Troopers at the scene found the victim’s body lying under the ramp. Iniguez was pronounced dead at the scene by EMS personnel.
