Weather Forecast During Pope Francis' Visit to D.C. Region

If you'll be among the crowds gathered on streets or the National Mall to see the pontiff, here's what to expect from the weather.

When Pope Francis’ plane touches down Tuesday afternoon at Joint Base Andrews for his three-day visit to Washington, D.C., there will be crowds in the streets wherever he goes.

If you plan to join the thousands who will be lining the streets or the National Mall to catch a glimpse of the Pope, here’s what you can expect from the weather, according to the National Weather Service:

  • Tuesday: 20 percent chance of rain before noon, with a high near 76. North wind 9 mph.
  • Tuesday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 54.
  • Wednesday: Sunny, with a high of 79.
  • Wednesday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 56.
  • Thursday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 79.
  • Thursday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 59.
